Growing up in the 80's and early 90's, I remember having to call my friend's home phones, putting on my most polite of voices as I spoke to their parents, and having to negotiate for their release but for an hour or two for a game of football.
This was the era before the internet, we had no social media platforms, and good luck securing a mobile, unless you were a businessman or a drug dealer.
Fast forward to the late 90's when I got hold of the now legendary Nokia 5110, and the world opened up to me, friends were but a text away, and boy did I text.
A time before Candy Crush, prior to Angry Birds, an era proceeding Pokemon Go, the game that captivated our attention and had us damn near addicted was 'Snake', and what a game. Even the most imaginatively challenged amongst us could enjoy it, and school work took a back seat.
Fast forward to the mid 2000's, and further until today and the primitive graphics of yesteryear's phones have been resigned to history's wastebasket, but the nostalgic amongst us still remember the days when our eyes traced across that tiny 3 inch screen and followed those clustered dots, as the snake wiggled and wormed its way across.
Ah, the good old days.
